What to Expect

Details of what to expect when booking and arriving for your massage appointment:

Whether you book your appointment online, in person, or via text/email/phone, you will receive an email with a link to a digital intake form. This form is very important for your therapist to give you the best massage specific to you. This form is also where you give consent to receive your massage, and must be completed before the massage can take place. You are encouraged to fill out this form at a time convenient for you before your appointment, but if you have any trouble, your therapist will help you fill out the form when you arrive for your appointment before the massage begins.

When you arrive to your appointment you will enter the waiting room. There is a restroom attached to the waiting room for your convenience. Your therapist will meet you in the waiting room and walk you back to the treatment room. Your therapist might ask you questions about things noted on your intake form for clarification and better understanding. If anything of concern is seen on your intake form, your therapist might recommend rescheduling your appointment. If you know you are currently pregnant, sick, contagious, and/or suffering from any infection, please let your therapist know and we will reschedule your appointment. Massage is not advised for pregnant women in their first trimester, and massage increases circulation which can cause an infection to spread throughout the whole body. At this time we are not offering pregnancy massage at this facility. If you are not sick or pregnant, your appointment will continue.

Once the intake form is discussed, the therapist will direct you on how to get on the massage table. Once the therapist has left the room, you may undress to your comfort level and get onto the table. If you need assistance getting on and off the table, make your therapist aware when discussing the intake form.

The therapist will return to the room and ask if you are comfortable on the table before entering the treatment space. When you let the therapist know you are on the table and covered by the sheet, the therapist will enter the treatment area. Private areas of the body will remain covered by a sheet or towel at all times while the therapist is present. The massage time will not start until the therapist places their hands on you. If you book a 60 minute massage, you will receive 60 minutes of hands-on treatment. The intake will take place before hand and is not counted in the 60 minutes. On average, the intake takes no more than 15 minutes. After your first appointment, the intake process is much faster, unless you have experienced any major health changes since your previous appointment.

Once the massage is complete, your therapist will make sure you are awake and will let you know they are exiting the room and that you may now get off the table and get dressed. The therapist will return to the room and offer you a drink of water. It is very important to stay hydrated after a massage. The therapist will ask how you feel. Please give honest feedback about how you feel after your massage so the therapist can make notes in your file and know what areas need more focus the next time you book an appointment. You will then pay for your treatment and may leave a tip, if you feel inclined to do so. We are now accepting payment in the forms of cash, check, credit/debit card, and PayPal. If you would like to book a follow-up appointment at this time, you are encouraged to do so to insure you get the appointment day and time that is most convenient for you. Your therapist will then see you out. Please do not be offended if the therapist moves through the checkout process quickly, as they only have a brief time to clean the treatment room before the next client.
